  1. I thought your history of the language was very interesting. I liked your organization of all of the slides. I thought the possible errors was very interesting and helpful as a future ESL teacher.

  2. Thanks for providing an overview of the Vietnamese language. One thing that I found interesting about the Vietnamese language is that plurals are determined by sentence context. I did not know that!!

  3. Damian I thought you did a nice job on your presentation. I especially liked being able to compare the two languages side by side. I also appreciated the possible errors information because it serves as a reference. if I am going to get a student from Vietnam I could easily look at possible errors and address them. Great job.

  5. Great job! Very informative - my only criticism is that on slide 4 the word compounds is visually repeated in the same axis. Nothing major, my eyes just focused on it.

  6. Thank you, Kathry, for pointing out that repetition. I didn't notice it at first, but it is odd to look at and seems off to the eye.

  9. Good job on your presentation. The Vietnamese language has some noticeable similarities to Mandarin, which is what my student spoke. Verb conjugations were a struggle for my student as well. Nice job!

  15. It was great to see a comparison of English with Vietnamese. It was interesting to learn about a tonal language, which differs so much from English. Excellent insight into student errors!

  16. I loved your side by side comparison of Vietnamese and English. I too worked with a Vietnamese ELL for this project. Their language is very interesting and I'm glad I had the opportunity to learn about it!

  17. Damian,

Your comparison of English and Vietnamese provided me with valuable information. I also liked how you gave background information on the language which is helpful considering I have little to no experience with the Vietnamese language. Well Done :-)
